About the Event

Yoga for Highschoolers. We are so excited! 

Our highschool interns wanted to find a way to encourage others their own age to give yoga a try and understand walking into a class as a “newbie” can be intimidating.

In the busy world we find ourselves in, being pulled in a million directions, stressed about school, sports, our personal lives, social media, what to be when we grow up, we often get lost in the busy-ness.

Yoga teaches us to slow down, to listen to our bodies, to tune out the outside world so we can tune into ourselves. We all need a few minutes of peace and quiet and we need to learn how to cultivate that, while connecting to our mind, body and true self.

Step into a judgment-free, technology-free room and just have fun learning all about yoga, a practice that can change your life.

Learn the power of the breath, the benefits of living in the moment, the control you have over the energy you let into your life.

Learn to live your life on purpose. Quiet the constant chatter in your mind and find strategies to understand what is causing you anxiety and tools to help manage the everyday stresses of life.

In this FREE 3 week series (you may sign up for one or all three!), we will learn the basic poses that make up a complete yoga practice, adding more poses weekly to our sequence.

In addition to the weekly yoga practice, we will also discuss a different mindfulness practice to help alleviate stress and anxiety from your life.

Week 1: we will focus on the power of the breath.

Week 2, we will discuss the benefits of living in the present moment.

Week 3: will focus on the power of the mind through intention setting and mantra work.

These classes will leave you feeling empowered, confident to take any yoga class and more in control of your life.

These classes will be facilitated by Rachel Murray, instructor at GoYoga New Albany and GoYoga Westerville. She’s AMAZING!
