About Us

Our Mission:
Our mission at Wellbeing Connection is to inspire compassion for mental health by connecting our community to programs, events, and resources that support mental wellness and belonging.
Our Story:

Wellbeing Connection began in 2020 when Sarah Underhill recognized a need for accessible mental health support in the New Albany community. Drawing on her own experiences with trauma and recovery, Sarah created the nonprofit to connect people with programs, events, and resources that foster mental wellness and community.
Over the years, Wellbeing Connection has grown to offer engaging classes in art, meditation, and yoga, along with support groups, workshops, and connections to local mental health professionals. The organization’s greatest impact often happens in quiet moments. A parent may find support for their child, an individual may finally feel safe to say they are struggling, or a community member may discover resources that meet their unique needs.
Today, Sarah continues to provide guidance and support, helping shape the organization’s growth and impact. With the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and board members, Wellbeing Connection continues to build community and help people find their path to healing.

Founder
Sarah Underhill (she/her)
Motivated by her late father’s philanthropic work, Sarah embraced the chance to build the organization she’d always needed. Her passion for creating a community-wide safe space for sharing has grown with each brave, personal story she hears from others. Sarah works to create a network of organizations, care providers and partners to support us all.

Board President
Amy Barnes, Ed.D. (she/her)
Amy’s mission to help lessen the depression and anxiety she saw in her OSU students drew her to WBC’s mission to support those with mental illness. Her leadership comes after years as a long-time volunteer with New Albany schools where her husband teaches, and her son and daughter are students. As Board President, Amy brings her specialties in organizational leadership, strategic planning, diversity and inclusion and much more to our community.

Treasurer
Christy Arenshield (she/her)
As a 20 year resident of New Albany and a past board member of The McCoy Center for the Arts, New Albany Women’s Network, Eagle Backers and New Albany For Kids, Christy’s passion is for fostering community connections. Secretary
Jack Caudill (he/him)
Jack started at Wellbeing Connection as an Intern for his senior seminar project at New Albany High School in 2020. WBC was an obvious choice as Jack wanted to help end the stigma and provide mental health support for his peers after his own struggles with mental health. Once the internship ended, we asked Jack to join the Board, as he brought the perspective of a young adult. He became a Board Member in September 2020. In 2022, Jack was elected to serve as Board Secretary and currently holds this position. Jack recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Political Science with a minor in International Studies, the other in Anthropology. Jack currently works for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s legislative branch with hopes of attending law school soon.
