About the Event

We will be offering a class introducing Yoga of 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR) led by Kelly Schulze, a yoga teacher trained in this program.  We are grateful to Kelly for bringing this class to our community so we may introduce a different model of support for those struggling with their own addiction or affected by the addictive behavior of others.

✨ What can I expect from this class?

Kelly will lead us through a 45 minute GENTLE movement practice, followed by a 45 minute 12 step type meeting, where she will share a reading and then open the floor to discussion, ending with serenity prayer and next steps.

✨ Who can attend?

It is open to all individuals dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others.  It is an open and inclusive group.  For Monday's class, you don’t need to be familiar with a 12 step based program or be a yogi.  We really want people to come and explore a new way of finding the support they need.

✨ What is Yoga of 12 Step Recovery?

Yoga of 12 Step Recovery was created as a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Y12SR “connects the dots” by combining the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-step recovery model.

IMPORTANT:  We understand that anonymity is the bedrock of this program so that people will feel safe and can share without fear of being judged.

  1. All participant videos will be off and it will be your decision to turn it on.
  2. When you register for the class, we do need your email address but you may register under any name you wish.  Whatever name you write in the name field upon registering, will appear on the screen when you join.  Please put whatever name you are comfortable with.

Kelly, our leader, has chosen a life of sobriety because she has many family members who have struggled and are currently struggling with addiction, and she doesn’t want to tempt genetics
